A brief background of where I am from and my influences. Born in Atlanta Georgia, my father is a lawyer and my mother is an artist, these contrasting personalities are a part of what has shaped me as a person and my art.
When I was five years old my family left the urban surroundings of Atlanta and immigrated to Canada, settling in rural Nova Scotia. I spent my childhood exploring rural Nova Scotia’s woodland trails and waterways, hiking, and kayaking. Our family frequently traveled between the US and Canada exploring rural centres such as Montreal, New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Atlanta. During high school and university I spent my summers teaching camp and tree planting. The contrast between the my time spent in urban centres and exploring wilderness is a constant source of inspiration.
Upon acceptance in Ryrerson's RTA New Media program I relocated to Toronto where I now reside.
